Joanna Mendl Shaw and Farah DeJohnette

Once again I’m bringing another unique learning experience at Ohana farm! I am so excited to be collaborating with the amazing JoAnna Mendl Shaw of The Equus Project.  For another game changer in Horsemanship.  Ohana Farm is known for life changing horsemanship experiences! Learn True Natural Horsemanship based equine herd social language and culture. No Rope Halters or Round pens needed! Just your Energy, Coherent Communication, Friendship, and Mutually Respectful and Trust building Equine/Human conversations. These exercises will allow you to build an ongoing incredible Relationship with your horse.  Adding this work to your training program and performance will take your partnership and relationship with your horse to a level you never dreamed possible!.

I met JoAnna and experienced her Equus Projects Movement exercises that teach Physical Listening including exercises focused on spatial intention, weight sensing, heightened tactile, aural and visual awareness. I KNEW I had to collaborate with her to share her knowledge with you because I saw how it applied to elevating your Feel, Timing, Body Language and Communication with horses. These are the exercises you’ve been seeking to bring your communication with your horse to incredible levels!

We’ll be covering the Ohana Relationship exercises that are loosely 10 Contextual social exercises done with a horse that is free from tack and restraint of any kind. This work IS THE missing piece from all training and the cornerstone of all my work with horses. These exercises are not only a fun, fresh approach to building Connection with horses, but also easy to learn and will enhance your understanding of horses in a way which we simply don’t learn from traditional training or other Natural horsemanship approaches. It is truly the missing piece from all horse training. You will learn to communicate and train your horse like another horse would, using articulate, embodied language and sensitivity for each individual horses’ intelligence and character.

JoAnna will be teaching 7 categories of Movement on the ground that will improve your Feel for movement in your own body and in turn feel for your horses body. You’ll learn how to follow and lead reciprocally,  How to “Listen” with your body and then respond to what your hearing. You’ll learn how to Communicate cues in a more Grounded, Harmonious soft way through these movements on the ground and mounted.

Horses are provided for the group class on day 1 for the class to learn the exercises so you don’t need to have or bring a horse to participate. People who bring horses for the second day, Will learn how to apply the approach to their personal horse or the horse they wish to practice with in private sessions. Two levels of Auditing will be offered. Auditing with participation in JoAnna’s Exercises section both days will be available with spaces limited and regular Auditing will be available for both days unlimited. Spaces limited so don’t wait to register!
