I have been to Ray Hunt clinics Olympic champion Robin Hains, John Cottle, Andrea Rave and other great trainers but I believe this takes training to a new level and I highly recommend.
After reading an article about Farah in Holistic Horse Magazine and watching her videos, I found there was so much I liked—her obvious experience and skill, calm demeanor, non judgmental attitude, the respect and affection she shows her horses and her sense of humor—I knew she was someone I wanted to meet in person and learn from.
I finally got the chance to spend time at Ohana Farm last weekend, and I can’t wait to go back again for more. I am a timid horsewoman and after working with Farah and learning from her approach, my horse, Seamus, and I are already benefiting!

Ohana Farm is an exceptional riding facility. Farah DeJohnette practices holistic horsemanship that honors the horse, the rider, and the relationship between horse and rider. My daughter has been riding at Ohana since she was six years old. At 10 1/2, she has developed an encyclopedic knowledge of both horses and riding. Farah’s horse lease program has ensured that she has had 1:1 lessons with the same pony for the past five years, truly allowing her to build a relationship and grow with her pony. Her lessons include, but are not limited to, grooming, dressage, jumping, dental care, hoof care, and horse training techniques. There is a focus on self-discipline and personal goals vs competition. She has had the opportunity to shadow Farah and various animal/farm/horse professionals through both the lease a horse lesson program and Ohana’s various camps and clinics. Lastly, Ohana Farm is place where everyone who goes to the barn, from the most dedicated rider down to those of us who are “horse-adjacent” are part of a friendly, creative, caring, supportive community. A feeling of “Ohana” truly prevails.

Had such a great experience with today's trail riding clinic! Farah, thank you so much for a wonderful day filled with helpful guidance and techniques. I really learned alot and had a great time doing it!
I LOVE Farah's Virtual Coaching. I have access to this amazing woman from New Zealand! I find it so different from any other lesson I've had.
Because you video yourself beforehand and then discuss the video, you really get to understand what you are learning. You're not just fixing something in the moment and then later, not quite sure of what you did.
My horse and I step-up every time we ride, not just during a lesson, because of Farah's Virtual Coaching.

Farah was instrumental in helping me deal with my fear. She did not hand me slogans or platitudes. She gave me "down to earth" things to do which helped me work on myself, my experiences, and my perceptions of myself and my horse. I felt she understood my fear as a real thing (not irrational or false) and the work we did I use in all aspects in my life, not just for horses
What a fabulous clinic that was! Farah is so knowledgeable about loose work, in-hand work and riding and, most importantly, how to connect these up - was really impressed and have already signed up for the September clinic 🙂
The show was wonderful, Farah was AMAZING and so inspiring. I am so glad that she is teaching people how to take better care of their horses, she is doing such important work she is one of my new heroes, I will recommend her to anyone I know with horses.
Such a privilege to get to enjoy the wisdom of Farah DeJohnette Horsemanship over 4 days. Had hit a wall with Ari, but it's come a-tumbling down! Saw other participants experience break throughs as well. Thanks for thinking outside the box, Farah.
Fantastic finish to a really wonderful weekend of clinic. Private liberty lesson this morning with Ari, worked on a few things and basically we're on the right track, it was so fantastic to have Farah there in real time rather than doing it by video coaching! Her insights were so valuable and right on the money.
Today I had the most joyful day. I had a lesson with Farah Dejohnette. I am feeling blessed to have such an amazing teacher and friend. Her in-depth knowledge of The Carolyn Resnick Method (which is at the core of everything I believe to betrue about horses…) coupled with an amazing bouquet of horse knowledge in every aspect from training both on the ground and under saddle, to horse care… wrapped in a blanket of patience, understanding, Life lessons and Spirituality makes for a fun filled day for my horse
I want to let you know that I really enjoy your classroom. You explain everything so clearly
Your videos are teaching me so much! Thank you for all of your FUN work!"
A few years ago, I met Farah DeJohmette at a clinic for equine self-selection herbs. I knew at that time that she had a special gift with horses. Bringing my horse to her farm so she could work with his insecurities, and mine, was always something I hoped I could do.
We finally had that opportunity and from the minute Phantom stepped off the trailer onto QI33Q3 Farm, I knew that we made the right decision. It is a calm and soothing place, and he settled in immediately.
Phantom and I spent a month working with Farah this past November. To say she is special is an understatement. Her ability to know what a horse wants and needs is uncanny. Her timing and horse sense are impeccable. While he was there, Farah showed me how to work with his ‘Fire Horse" temperament in a non-threatening, calm way. She introduced me to the Chinese Elements and to Dr. John Perrizet, a local vet. She recommended numerous books to read, and, as a result, I have begun reading about what Phantom and I need. Farah’s website also has tutorials on her work with horses which have been very helpful in reinforcing what she has shown me in our lessons.
While I still have much work ahead of me, I am feeling more confident when dealing with and understanding my horse. We will be going back to the farm to continue our work, and I will be attending some of her clinics in the Spring. I have finally found the resource in Farah that I have needed. She is the best!

Farah has helped me in continuing to work with our communication, along with helping me build my confidence and helping me to provide the trust Macho needs from me as a leader and vise versa.
Macho was initially not easy to catch in the pasture. Now, Macho eagerly greets me in the pasture and willingly comes with me whether we are working in the round pen or going for a trail ride.
Communication is key to any successful relationship and Farah has been pivotal in our developing relationship.

Farah is the best trainer and instructor I have ever worked with and I wish I knew you before bought all these horses (LOL)! I'm sure you would have had some very good advice for me. In any event, your work with me and my horses is nothing less than phenomenal and you are the highlight of my week. Thank you!

In addition to the excellent instruction, here's what I value about your videos: You show all responses the horse gives, not just slick, edited instant success, the way many instructors do. It really teaches positive reinforcement, and the horse looking for the right answer. Thanks for that.
Just another "awe" insight. I'm just so amazed at how much Guinness has progressed! Remember when I first cantered him for u and it was at a 30-degree angle with his legs going everywhere? Not to mention the bucks? My instructor before you would have told me to ditch him!
Thank goodness, there are people like yourself who can understand the OTB's as they have so much to give.

I bought Farah's own mare, Fate, about three years back. Every person who either meets Fate or rides her is astounded with her incredible work ethic and her impeccable manners. She's one of the best tempered horse I've ever met and I credit lot of that to how Farah started her and then continued with her training till she was nine.
I've worked with Farah for about five years now and I have to say she is one of the finest horse trainers I've met. She's incredibly intuitive and responds differently and adapts to each horse and rider's specific styles.
She helped me with my first horse Dakota, who we had to retrain from the ground up and within a year the people from whom I had bought him didn't even recognize Dakota he was so altered. He went from knowing only two speeds, fast walk and gallop, to going very nicely and becoming a pleasure

Farah is patient, knowledgeble, and a wonderful teacher. I was a novice and my horse took advantage of me. Farah brought us both together and made riding and ownwership a memorable experience.Thank you!!!
Farah made me realize that I was way over training Tank...yelling at him so to speak...
Now I have learned to sit quiet and centered and mirror his body position...and then when I change my body position in transition he will follow...like a good dance partner... which is what we are all after...
Thanks Farah...We all need those second pair of eyes to see what we don't see…

Hi my name is Karen. Farah is the only trainer that really made progress with my horses. She will teach you how to correct the problems you are having with your horse starting on the ground and then with riding. I can't say enough great things about her.
In the 4 weeks she worked with him, she did more than in the entire 6 months at the other barn. She brings them along on the ground as well as under saddle. She has their full attention from the moment she clips onto their halter from the paddock.
If I get another young horse, she will be the one I will go to for assistance. She is also a very clear communicator with her students. I would highly recommend her.
